Don’t Forget the Past
From 30 June 1940 until the liberation on 9 May 1945 the Channel Islands were occupied by Nazi Germany. German bombers bombed the harbour of Guernsey when reconnaissance mistook trucks loaded with tomatoes for troop carriers. Sadly, forty-four islanders were killed in these meaningless raids.
