The Islands of Guernsey
The Bailiwick of Guernsey is a collection of islands, each having a unique character... all with outstanding beauty. Guernsey is the largest of this archipelago and the ideal location from which to island hop to Lihou, Herm, Sark and Alderney. Choose Herm for it's tranquility and the beautiful white sands of Shell beach and the sheltered Belvoir Bay. The island of Sark takes you back in time to when horse and cart ambled through lanes bordered with wild flowers. Or walk across the causeway at low tide to Lihou Island, the largest nature reserve of Guernsey.
And Guernsey itself, although only 24 square miles, packs a punch with different landscapes in different parts of the island. The south coast stuns with dramatic cliffs overlooking mediterranean blue sea and picture-perfect bays. The town of St Peter Port with it's cobbled streets and boutique shops lies to the east. The north of the island boasts of expanses of common land, coastal walks and long stretches of sandy beaches and the west coast is popular for its surfing beach of Vazon and bucket and spade beaches of Cobo, Grande Rocques and Port Soif. With over 50 beaches in Guernsey, you will always be able to find the perfect spot to read your book, go for a swim, grab an ice-cream, or simply take a nap!
We had an amazing week at Ellingham in our lovely holiday house... The garden and deck were brilliant for relaxing and the kids loved the 'Store' with all the beach toys, games, books and DVDs . Beautiful beaches and walks nearby and super friendly owners...lalalml. Holiday Lettings, 18 Apr 2017
Peaceful haven amidst natural floral wonderland
Good location for numerous excellent restaurants. Many delightful walks from the cottages and others just a short car or bus journey. Breathtaking views, secluded beaches but well-stocked kiosks not far away. Well appointed accommodation with all we needed, friendly welcome. A week was not long enough and can't wait to go back.JPratley. Holiday Lettings, 16 Jun 2016
Comfortable neat, clean and tidy cottage
Fiona and Simon were great hosts and very helpful. The Ellingham cottages are in a nice quite spot in St. Martin which is close to St. Peter Port and easily accessible by bus or a lovely costal walk (1.5 hrs). The cottage was very comfortable, neat, clean and tidy. Thanks Fiona and Simon for helping to make our stay on Guernsey so enjoyable.Brian. AirBnB, 17 Jun 2017
